25 years of liver transplantation in Romania – ARCHBPTH, active partner at National Transplant Day 2025
On April 11, 2025, the Library of the Romanian Academy will host the 20th edition of National Transplant Day, an event marking 25 years since the first liver transplant in Romania. In this anniversary context, ARCHBPTH will be present as an active partner, alongside medical professionals, patients and supporters of organ donation.
The events will begin in the IOR Park, with the unveiling of a monument dedicated to organ donors and transplant patients – a symbol of gratitude and solidarity. The program will continue in the “Ion Heliade Rădulescu” Amphitheater of the Academy Library, where a documentary film about the evolution of liver transplantation in Romania will be presented, followed by a press conference with interventions by specialists and transplant recipients.
ARCHBPTH supports this commemorative and educational initiative, reaffirming its commitment to transplant patients and to the promotion of organ donation. Through its projects and campaigns, the organization actively contributes to increasing awareness, supporting patients and strengthening the support network around the medical act of transplantation.
The event highlights not only the medical advances of the last 25 years, but also the importance of community involvement in supporting a gesture that can save lives: organ donation.
